GYLP is not a program, it is a life-changer! Meeting peers from around the globe inspired me to think more broadly and prepare for a future of global collaboration. I also keep staying in contact with a lot of friends I met there. It’s an experience I’ll cherish forever.

Last year I was a little hesitant at first to apply for GYLP because these 10 months might change the future plans I had made and clung to. And now, I can say that it has completely changed me to be a better Anh, who is more humble, more confident, unafraid of any challenges, and thankful for my decision to apply for this program.

Let's just say it was an adventure! Trying to order Korean food with my limited Korean was a daily challenge. But navigating a new culture, tackling challenging course at a prestigious university like POSTECH, and making friends along the way? Absolutely priceless. This program truly pushed me outside my comfort zone, and I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.

Hi! I’m Thofan from Thailand, and I’d call GYLP a total life-changer for me. Joining GYLP made me realize that I was super "suck" at a lot of things, but that wasn’t a bad thing – it just meant I was stepping out of my comfort zone and starting to grow. Participation in the GYL program was really life-changing for me. Through communication with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, I gained a better understanding of life and made connections all over the world. Moreover, a strong academic environment helped me set goals for the future and recognize my scientific interests. Looking back, my year in Korea with the Global Young Leaders Program holds a very special place in my heart. Immersing myself in a new culture, studying at POSTECH, and having the opportunity to conduct research with leading professors was invaluable—it significantly advanced my academic pursuits and helped me secure a master's scholarship. But beyond the academics, it was the people and the friendships I forged that truly made it unforgettable. I learned to appreciate every moment, find balance in life, and see the world with fresh eyes. I truly hope to return to Korea one day and reconnect with everyone again.

Challenging but incredibly fun is the best way to describe my experience with the GYLP. I had the opportunity to attend classes at one of the prestigious universities in South Korea, alongside a group of selected, exceptionally smart students. I also gained experience in building a project representing POSCO subsidiaries from our country, working with a local mentor and a professor. I honed my English skills every day while interacting with both international and Korean students in the dormitory. Despite all these challenges, I also made new close friends from my GYLP batch to experience Korea together, where we traveled, tried new food, and experience their culture.
